It consists of two separate satellite constellations – a limited test system that has been operating since 2000, and a full-scale global navigation system that is currently under construction. Two Beidou Navigation Satellite will be launched atop of a Long March 3B (CZ-3B) from Xichang Satellite Launch Center to medium Earth orbit.
The BeiDou Navigation Satellite System is a satellite-based radio navigation system owned and operated by the China National Space Administration.[4] It is one of the global navigation satellite systems that provide geolocation and time information to a BDS receiver anywhere on or near the Earth where there is an unobstructed line of sight to four or more BDS satellites.
